The Staten Island Small Business Development Center helps business owners from the early planning stages, securing finances, obtaining licenses, complying with regulations and developing a marketing plan. The center is located at the College of Staten Island, Building 3A, Room 105. 718-982-2560

Staten Island Business Outreach Center

The Staten Island Business Outreach Center works with low- and moderate-income entrepreneurs so they can grow their businesses. Services include: Developing a business plan, financial planning, legal assistance, market research, licensing and permit information, procurement assistance and grant applications. The center is located in the offices of the West Brighton Community Local Development Corporation, 705 Forest Avenue, second floor. 718 816-4775

Small Business Administration

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) continues to help small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream. SBA is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small business and provides counseling, capital and contracting expertise and the nation's only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.

Staten Island Economic Development Corporation 
The Staten Island Economic Development Corporation advocates for economic development by promoting public and private investment and encouraging responsible and sustainable development. The SIEDC has been responsible for over $550 million in new investment, the creation of over 3,500 jobs and the development of over 1,000 acres of vacant industrial land by providing assistance to developers and companies implementing projects on Staten Island. They also work with small entrepreneurs and small business owner with tailored financing, procurement and real estate assistance. The SIEDC is located at 900 South Ave., Suit 402. 718-477-1400

SCORE-Staten Island
SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground. through education and mentorship. They have local mentors across all industries, inexpensive or free workshops and online webinars. SCORE volunteers are working and retired executives and business owners, who donate their time and expertise on a volunteer basis. Walk-ins are welcome on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon in the offices of the Staten Island Advance, 950 Fingerboard Rd. ​Meals on Wheel Of Staten Island
Meals on Wheels of Staten Island is leading the effort to make sure the elderly people in our community receive nutritious meals and the human connection they need to help them live independently. They currently serve over three-quarters of a million meals per year to our clients. They currently serve over three-quarters of a million meals per year to their clients. Meals on Wheels delivers two meals (one hot and one cold) each day, five days a week between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., except for major holidays. Those frozen meals can be delivered on Saturday morning for weekends.

The American Legion
The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation's veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership. The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. 

Military Order of the Purple Heart
​The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are wounded or killed while in active-duty service. Funds for welfare, rehabilitation and/or service work carried on by the organization are derived through the collection of used household items, the operation of thrift stores, through the donation of automobiles and  monetary donations. 

Korean War Veterans Association
The Korean War Veterans Association organizes, promotes and maintains for benevolent and charitable purposes for those who have seen honorable service during the Korean War at any time between June 25, 1950 and 31 January 1955, both dates inclusive

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America
IAVA is the non-partisan leader in advocacy, public awareness and one-on-one case management support. The organization focuses on homelessness, veteran employment, equality, service dogs, a national memorial for the generation of Iraq/Afghanistan veterans.
