The free event will feature musical acts, both local and touring, on the main stage throughout the day. Louis Prima Jr. and The Witnesses are the day’s headliners, performing at 4 PM, courtesy of sponsors Lois and Richard Nicotra. Charlie Poveromo, and Cause and the Effects will also perform.
A brief ceremony will kick off the event, followed by a day of cooking demonstrations, kids activities, photo opportunities, vendors, food, and much, much more.
“This event is going to be even bigger and better than last year,” noted Borough President James Oddo. “Our goal is to provide Staten Islanders with a celebration of the contributions made by those of Italian descent. The event will be informative, educational, and a whole lot of fun.”
Ideal for all ages, Rome Through Richmond Town is made possible by generous donors and friends including Lois & RIchard Nicotra, Senator Diane Savino, Broadway Stages, Community Television, Richmond University Medical Center, Gerald Peters, the Staten Island Mall, The Vanderbilt & The Grand Oaks Country Club, Staten Island Marine Development, Rampulla Associates Architects, Project 1, Cangiano Estates, Touchstone Health, Northfield Bank, Green Mountain Energy, and Italian American Women.
“Our partners are the most generous people. With their support, we can make this a free event for all who want to join us. I encourage all to attend and enjoy,” said Ed Wiseman, Executive Director of Historic Richmond Town.
