“Joining a Community Board is an excellent way to serve your community,” said Borough President Oddo. “Community Boards are an institution in city government that allows citizens to play an active role in their government. Amongst other responsibilities, they play an important advisory role in the city’s land use process. I want to ensure that our local Community Boards have a diverse array of perspectives and opinions. For this reason, I am putting this call out to Staten Islanders. If you have ever wondered how you can get more involved in serving your neighborhood, consider serving on your local Community Board.”
Those who are appointed to the Community Board are expected to attend one full Board meeting per month and a committee meeting. Please contact Marie Carmody-LaFrancesca at mlafrancesca@statenislandusa.com or 718-816-2141 with any questions.
