Postcards 9/11 Ceremony
Each year, Borough President James Oddo hosts the 9/11 Memorial Ceremony to remember the Staten Islanders we lost 19 years ago and to pay tribute to those First Responders who have subsequently died from their service at Ground Zero. The program takes place annually on Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m.

The Albert V. Maniscalco Award
The Albert V. Maniscalco Community Service Award was established in 1986 in honor of the ninth borough president. The award celebrates the civic-mindedness and tireless energy of individuals or organizations that work to help community members in need and to make Staten Island a better place.

The Patrick Daly Award
This award goes to two educators who exemplify the values of the fallen principal, who was gunned down 27 years ago in Red Hook, Brooklyn while searching for a student who had left the school building. The award was established shortly after Mr. Daly’s death and was revived in 2017 to honor his legacy of service to the community, his steadfast commitment to his students, and his leadership.
