A Message from Borough HallA MESSAGE FROM BOROUGH HALL
We at Borough Hall consider the safety and well-being of Staten Islanders paramount. In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have instituted new policies and procedures to govern the official functions of the Borough President’s Office to mitigate risks associated with COVID-19 to the fullest extent possible. Our Help Line will be functioning in an alternative capacity. While our staff is available to help with issues via phone, we encourage constituents to download our free app, BP Assist, available on Google Play and App Store. All complaints and reports of problems can easily be reported via the app, which includes a camera feature so that you can send photos of the issue you are reporting. We will not be able to meet constituents for in-person meetings during this time for the health and safety of all. Effective immediately, the Staten Island Borough President’s Topographical Bureau will ONLY address requests for essential services related to essential construction projects. Intake for all other requests is temporarily suspended. This revision has been made pursuant to the New York State Gubernatorial Emergency Order 202.6 and subsequent orders, related Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) guidelines, the New York City Mayoral Emergency Order 103 and subsequent mayoral emergency orders and in support of the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) Bulletin 2020-004, the March 2020 DOB Service Notice for COVID-19 Response: Suspension of All Work on Nonessential Construction and Demolition Sites and related administrative code/zoning sections. All relevant inquiries can be forwarded to REnglert@statenislandusa.com. Of course, we wish these changes to protocol were unnecessary; however the safety of the general public and Borough Hall staff must take precedence. While we hope this will be a temporary policy, these procedures will remain in effect until further notice. Thank you for your understanding and be well. Thank you and stay safe. |
