BP Molinaro Provides $858,487 to Sixteen Senior Programs

STATEN ISLAND, NY –  Borough President James P. Molinaro today announced funding of $858,487 to 16 Staten Island-based senior programs as part of his “Borough Needs” allocations for Fiscal Year 2008.

“I am extremely proud that, despite fiscal shortfalls, I am able to maintain funding for these vital programs,” said Molinaro.“ As the only Borough in the City to experience an increase in its elderly population over the last decade, preserving these critical services for our 70,000 seniors is of paramount importance.”

 

Allocations were made in the following amounts to:

• $91,496 to CASC/New Lane Senior Center

• $39,462 to CASC/Frail Elderly Transportation

• $10,000 to CASC/Forever Young, Cassidy Coles, South Beach

Senior Centers and Dialysis Program

• $325,597 to CASC Senior Transportation

• $16,674 to CSS-RSVP/SERVE

• $11,116 to CYO Senior Guild

• $89,652 to JCC Kosher Nutrition

• $74,108 to Richmond Home Needs Services

• $14,981 to Richmond Senior Services/Project Share

• $46,317 to NYC-HHC-Seaview Hospital Adult Day Care

• $46,317 to SI Interagency Council on Aging

• $60,212 to SI Meals on Wheels

• $18,753 to SI Comm. Svc. Friendship Clubs/New Dorp Saturday

• $4,782 to Alzheimer’s Foundation of SI

• $6,000 to Catholic Charities Community Services Stapleton, W. Brighton/Mariners Harbor Senior Centers

• $4,020 to Central Family Life Center Thursday Recreation program
