B.P. Molinaro dedicates Starlight Concert to autism awareness
July 8th Concert at Silver Lake Park to be sponsored by Northfield Bank Foundation
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Borough President James P. Molinaro today announced that his free summer events continue this week, with a Starlight Concert at Silver Lake Park on Thursday, July 8th at 8 p.m. The concert will be dedicated to promoting autism awareness and will showcase services available for autistic children and their families on Staten Island. The concert is sponsored by Northfield Bank Foundation.
The concert will feature “The Bronx Wanderers,” and will run from 8 p.m. through 10 p.m. Silver Lake Park is located at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Silver Lake Road.
Members of Staten Island’s leading organizations dedicated to special needs will be on hand at the concert to provide information, gather support, and spread awareness of the autism spectrum and how it affects Staten Islanders. The following agencies will be represented: Eden II, G.R.A.C.E. Foundation, Institute for Basic Research, Jewish Community Center, On Your Mark, and Volunteers of America. In addition to providing written information materials, representatives from these organizations will be on hand to speak with anyone who would like further information about autism or autism services being offered.
Now in our 20th year of free summer events, the Borough President’s Office is most grateful to all of this year’s sponsors. Concert-goers should bring lawn chairs to all concert events.
