B.P. Molinaro seeks volunteers for new tourism kiosk

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Borough President James P. Molinaro today announced that he is seeking volunteers to participate in the “Staten Island Welcome Center Program” headed by his office in partnership with SINY.  Volunteers would be staffing the new tourism kiosk at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.

“Each day, hundreds of tourists pass through the ferry terminals in Staten Island and Manhattan,” Molinaro said. “We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help greet and direct those tourists, and convey information about our cultural and recreational attractions.”

“This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in the fields of marketing, tourism, or hospitality,” Molinaro said. “Applicants should be friendly, outgoing, and able to interact well with people.”

Interested parties over the age of 18 who would like more information on the program or who are interested in applying should contact Amanda Straniere, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Liaison for the Borough President, at 718-816-2230, or astraniere@statenislandusa.com
