Borough President Molinaro & Commissioner David Burney conduct walk-through of Clove Road water main project
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Borough President James P. Molinaro and Commissioner David J. Burney of the New York City Department of Design and Construction today conducted a walk-through of the Clove Road water main project, and visited with local business owners.
Borough President Molinaro and Commissioner Burney were briefed on the construction progress with the water main work. At each completion juncture, the road will be repaved “curb to curb.”
Molinaro also asked for better and direct communication between the contractor and the businesses.
“I have been concerned with the impact on homeowners and businesses from day one,” Molinaro said. “That’s why I invited staff members of the DDC to speak with the Clove Lakes Civic Association well before the project began, which they did.”
“Now, with the support of Commissioner Burney, we want to see the construction project completed as quickly as possible and the road corridor in better shape than it was found before the project began,” Molinaro added. “I would like to thank Commissioner Burney for walking the site with me and speaking directly to business owners affected by the construction. The business owners were appreciative that a Commissioner came to speak with them face-to-face and hear their concerns.”
