B.P. Molinaro and NYC & Company to launch “Staten Island Attractions” magazine
First-of-its-kind publication to be distributed to nation’s tourism markets
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Borough President James P. Molinaro was joined by George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company, as well as representatives from various Staten Island cultural institutions at a press conference to announce the launch of “Staten Island Attractions: Big Apple Pleasures, Small Town Treasures,” a cultural publication to help promote tourism for Staten Island.
The first-of-its-kind, 72-page, full-color cultural attractions magazine was partially funded by a $38,314 grant from the NYC & Company Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization whose mission is to support tourism to New York City by promoting the arts and cultural organizations that make visiting New York a special and exciting experience.
The magazine will be distributed to the tourism agencies of all 50 states and the counties of New York State, NYC & Company’s national and international offices, automobile clubs, editors of travel and leisure publications, Staten Island hotels, and the leaders of Staten Island’s cultural and economic community.
“Staten Island is inviting the world to experience our great attractions,” said Molinaro. “Thanks to the support of George Fertitta, NYC & Company, and the NYC & Company Foundation, my office will be able to promote Staten Island to the millions of tourists who visit New York City each year by marketing the Borough’s places of interest in our first-ever magazine. Staten Island recognizes the important benefits of tourism to our cultural organizations, local businesses, and citizens at large.”
The magazine highlights the Borough’s non-profit cultural organizations, including museums, the zoo, botanical gardens, art centers and historic sites.
