B.P. Molinaro Appoints New Legal Counsel

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Borough President James P. Molinaro today announced that he has appointed John Wm. Zaccone as his new legal counsel, succeeding Victor Carasaniti, who left Borough Hall last week to return to private practice.

As was the case with Carasaniti, Zaccone will be performing his Borough Hall duties on a part-time basis.

Zaccone, 42, of Grymes Hill, is engaged in the general practice of law as a sole practitioner in the State and Federal Courts of New York and New Jersey, specializing in bankruptcy, taxation, real estate, corporate and business law.

Zaccone earned his Juris Doctorate cum laude from New York Law School, and received a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from Pace University.

Active in the community, Zaccone is counsel to Staten Island Aid for Retarded Children and Staten Island Community Television, a member of Community Board 2, and director of Staten Island Recreational Association, a not-for-profit corporation designed to provide support for sports and youth recreational activities in the Borough.

“I’ve known John for many years as an experienced, knowledgeable attorney with impeccable judgement,” said Molinaro. “He is eminently qualified for Borough Hall Counsel, and will be a real asset to my office.”

“I am thrilled to assist the Borough President and look forward to serving the people of Staten Island,” Zaccone said.
