Borough President Molinaro to Host Coat Drive during the Month of January
STATEN ISLAND, NY – Borough President James P. Molinaro announced today that he will once again hold a coat drive throughout the month of January to benefit the needy and less fortunate of our Borough. The distribution of coats will take place on Wednesday, January 12th at 3:30 p.m. in Conference Room 122 in Borough Hall.
Coats are being donated by Borough Hall and Courthouse employees in addition to a number of public, private, and parochial schools. Representatives from the schools will be invited to the coat distribution where Borough President Molinaro will present Certificates of Appreciation to each participating school, recognizing their contributions and hard work. Also in attendance will be the leaders of the organizations that will receive the donated clothing.
Staten Islanders have shown an enormous amount of generosity throughout the past year, donating clothing, food and toys to the less fortunate, and helping to curtail the blood bank shortage by donating blood. Borough President Molinaro urges all Islanders who wish to donate gently used, clean outerware to contact Joanne Nuzzo, Director of Special Events for the Borough President’s Office at 718-816-2133 for more information. In addition to coats, there is also a need for gently used hats, scarves and gloves.
